Carpenters are welcome to apply for PR in Australia. A massive quota of 8,536 this year (2019).
Carpenters are eligible for all numerous PR (Permanent Residency) visa options. However, the process can be complex and not easy to understand for many people, since this occupation required Skills Assessment, which is the hardest part for most Carpenters to do successfully. Furthermore, this is a mandatory step if you wish to become a “carpenter” in Australia.
If you would like to study carpentry and become a carpenter, please contact us for more information. We can help you to find the right school in any city in Australia. You can email us your resume at marketing@pacemigration.com.au for an initial assessment, or you can have a free consultation with our senior education consultant.
You need to get the right qualification. Study Certificate III in Carpentry and Diploma in Building and Construction for 2.5 years in Australia.
While you are studying, you are required to have worked at least 360 hours as a carpenter.
Apply for a Graduated Skilled visa and get 18-month of work visa.
While you are holding SC 485 visa, you must work full-time as a carpenter for 1,760 hours, which is around 1 year.
Get a positive Skills Assessments outcome with your one-year work experience.
Also, during your graduate work visa, you need to take an English test and score at least IELTS 7-7-7-7 (or equivalent) to gain 10 points or a score of 8-8-8-8 to gain 20 points.
If you have reached the right amount of points, as of now the minimum requirement is 65 points, you can go for the next step.
Apply for EOI (Expression of Interest) and wait for immigration to invite you to apply for PR or TR.
Start your visa application.
Remember that each type of visa subclass has different conditions, you might want to check with your migration agent which one are you eligible for. Each case is different and at PACE Migration we analyse each application very carefully until you reach your PR (Permanent Residency) goal. Don’t hesitate to contact us or book an online consultation before it is too late!
Thank you 😊

I have graduated from Melbourne Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Information Technology in 2016. My visa is 457. I applied for visa 482, unfortunately, the application was refused.
Could you please advise what I should do?

I was told off my immigration lawyer that you will not get accepted for expression of interest with carpentry? You need like 90 points to even get your case looked at. Is this expression of interest different in each state? E.g easier in Queensland than Victoria please?
Dear Clarissa:
65 points is the minimum required to submit an Expression of Interest, but it does not guarantee an invitation. The more points you have the higher your chances to receive an invitation.
