Eligibility Requirements for the Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476):

To apply for this visa you must have completed an engineering undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a specified overseas institution within the last two years, and be under 31 years of age. You may live, work, or study in Australia for up to 18 months with this visa. To be eligible for the Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476), you must meet the following criteria:

  • Younger than 31 years old at the time of application.
  • Has completed an engineering degree at a specified educational institution in the last 2 years.
  • Your qualification must be listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and obtained from an accredited institution.
  • You must have completed your qualification within the past 24 months of applying for the visa.
  • Not the primary visa holder for subclass 476 or 485 visas before.

Important Considerations for the Skilled Recognised Graduate Visa (Subclass 476):

  • Quota System: The number of Subclass 476 visas granted each year is capped. Applications lodged after June 30, 2024, may not be processed until the next financial year.
  • No pathway to extension: Unfortunately, the 476 visa cannot be extended. However, the skills and experience gained can be valuable for permanent residency applications.
