    FAQs

At PACE, we can tackle any aspect of the visa application process, whether it involves discussing potential visa pathways, providing migration advice, or lodging applications on behalf of our clients. As a MARA-registered migration agent, we have exclusive authority over our case within an immigration tribunal. PACE offers comprehensive services for all visa types, including those listed in General Skilled Migration (GSM) pathways, Employer Nominated Visas (such as the SC 482), and Partner Visas. We also specialise in less common visa types such as Travel Visas (SC 600, 601 and 650), Protection Visas, Partner Visas, and Global Talent Visas. Other migration services are also available, including applications for permanent residency and Australian citizenship.

PACE recognises the value of Australian education and our immense competency globally, and thus assists students in enrolling in prestigious colleges, universities, or secondary schools. We can also contact educational institutions directly to discuss suitable courses that align with your personal goals and may be relevant to your migration pathways, such as the Student Visa (SC 500).

The immigration visa application process is tedious and thus requires in-depth expertise within the area to increase the likelihood of success. Choosing a suitable migration agent is vital, and our 15 years of experience make us a prime contender among the best in Sydney.

Yes. We understand that Visa cancellations can be stressful; therefore, we can represent our clients at the tribunal level and strive to help them achieve their desired visa approval by highlighting their unique circumstances.

An expression of interest is a submission to the Department of Home Affairs, to be taken into consideration for the possibility of a skilled visa, which includes subclasses (189,190, 491 and 188). An EOI is separate from a visa application and is always required before being invited for any General Skilled Migration Subclass.

As subclasses 189, 190, and 491 are points-based, you will need to exceed the 65-point threshold in your EOI to be eligible for these visa types. Furthermore, depending on your subclass, your occupation must be listed in a specific category of the ANZSCO Skilled Occupation List.

Every visa application process is different and largely depends on the type of Visa you are applying for. Generally, the processing time for obtaining a permanent visa is approximately 12 months. Some of the factors that affect the processing time of your Visa are,

    – The complexity of the visa application and the subclass applied for
    – Availability of supporting documentation
    – The workload of the department

To expedite visa processing, applicants must adhere to Australian standards, including providing accurate details in their application, meeting health and character requirements, and fulfilling any additional criteria outlined for the specific visa subclass. Get help from our immigration consultants in Sydney to accurately fill out your application and speed up your visa process.

Recognised as the best immigration agents in Sydney, we assist you with all visa types, including

    – General Skilled Migration (SC 189, 190, 491 and 191)
    – Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) SC186 TRT and DES)
    – Temporary Skilled Shortage (TSS) SC482
    – Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (SESR) SC494
    – Partner visa SC820/801 and Sc309 and 300
    – Student Visas SC500

The skilled migration visa allows you to move to Australia as a permanent resident and is available for points-tested skilled workers.

    – The applicant must choose an occupation from the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) or Medium-Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) that matches their skills, qualifications, and work experience.
    – You should have a positive skills assessment to verify that your qualifications and work experience meet the Australian standards for the nominated occupation.
    – Age must be under 45; an exemption is granted under certain circumstances.
    – English language proficiency should be greater than 6 in each band in the IELTS exam (or equivalent)
    – You must have a minimum of 65 points on the Points test
    – You must apply for an EOI (Expression of Interest), and once you are invited, you can then apply for the Visa, whether it is PR SC189 or SC190 or it’s a Regional State-nominated TR SC491.

The primary difference between Subclass 189 and 190 is that the latter is a ‘state-nominated’ subclass, which requires an additional application; however, you may be eligible for more points. This means that you will be required to work and live in a particular state or territory, but it has the advantage that your nominated occupation can be listed on either the Short-Term Skilled Occupation list (STSOL) or the Medium-Long Term Strategic Skills list (MLTSLL)

However, the 189 Subclass is an ‘Independent’ visa, which means you are free to work and live anywhere in Australia, provided that your occupation is on the Medium to Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

The Subclass 491 Visa is unique in that it is State/Territory sponsored, allowing you to be designated in a regional area of Australia. The main advantage of this Visa is that your occupation can be listed on the MLTSSL, STSOL or the Regional Occupation List (ROL).

Subclasses 189 and 190 allow you to live, work and study in Australia indefinitely as permanent residents. In fact, after four years of living in Australia, you would become eligible for citizenship.

However, the Subclass 491 visa only allows you to live in Australia as a temporary resident and is valid for 5 years. To acquire permanent residency, you will need to apply for a Subclass 191 visa after being on the Subclass 491 for a minimum of three years.

Our Australian migration agents in Sydney can advise you on how to obtain sufficient points in the points test to increase your chances of obtaining a General Skilled Migration Visa (Subclass 189, 190, or 491).

Yes. As trusted Migration Agents in Sydney, we assist with both temporary and permanent visas. Yes. We understand that a refused student visa can be a significant setback; therefore, we support our clients through the appeals process at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Our experienced Migration Lawyers Sydney team can review the refusal decision, explain your appeal rights, and represent you before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) where eligible. We work to rebuild your case by presenting your genuine study intentions and personal circumstances to maximise the chances of a successful outcome.

Yes, you should. The migration process can be complex, demanding professional knowledge to maximise your chances of success. Engaging a MARA migration agent ensures your application is handled accurately, transparently, and in compliance with Australian law. At Pace, our team is MARA registered, ensuring you receive accurate guidance, ethical service, and the best chance of success with your visa application.

The Skills in Demand (SID) visa lets an Australian employer sponsor you to work in a skilled role. It covers streams like Core Skills and Specialist Skills, depending on your occupation and salary. In many cases, this pathway can lead to permanent residency if you meet the work, salary, and occupation requirements. It also offers options for family inclusion and access to Medicare once permanent residency is granted. Our Visa Agents in Sydney can guide you on eligibility and next steps.

I cannot recommend Pace Migration highly enough for anyone navigating the complexities of Australian visa applications. As someone who was initially overwhelmed by the 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa process, I found Mr. Rahman's expertise absolutely invaluable. From our first consultation, Mr. Rahman took the time to understand my specific circumstances and concerns. What impressed me most was his ability to explain the intricate requirements in WRITING through clear, understandable terms while ensuring every detail was meticulously handled. He was proactive in identifying potential issues before they became problems and provided guidance as needed. Throughout the process, communication from Pace Migration was exceptional. It was either Anna on behalf of Mr. Rahman or Mr. Rahman himself responded with transparency about timelines and patient with my questions. If you're looking for a migration consultant who combines expertise with personal attention to your success, look no further. Pace Migration got my vote. I would surely use their service for either 189 or 190 in the near future.

An update fo my review: It was a glorious day of 12 June 2025 for me - finally a Permanent Resident. After 10 months of waiting from the day my 191 application was lodged. My journey for my PR was made possible by Pace Migration Education & Consiltancy. I have been with them since the beginning, from my student visa until my PR visa, this was a long 10 years. They provide you with the best advice and best options, specially when your case is a bit challenging, all you have to do is listen to the advise and follow through each step of the way and have a lot of patience. They have also been so patient with mr through all my questions ang doubts. Syed and Anna are the best in this field. Put your trust in them and they’ll help you achieve your goals. I received my visa 491 (Tasmania) on 3 June 2021. This was not possible without the help of PACE Migration, Syed and Anna! I have been guided by them from 2014 with my student visas and my quest for the ever-elusive TR/PR. I have encountered obstacles with my attempt to secure a PR for NSW and was advised by Syed to apply for 491 (Tasmania) instead. True it was a difficult decision to move to another state which you are not familiar with and have heard of not so good feedback. However, after all the visa details, guidance, advice, patience given to me by Syed & Anna I was able to move here and adjust and successfully granted the 491 visa. PACE Migration has become, for me, an extended family. They really listen to you and your concerns and carve a pathway for you to achieve your goals of staying here in Australia. Of course it is a two way street, the applicant also needs to listen and take the advise given by the migration agent who has compassion and most of all knowledge and experience in this industry. They don’t immediately tell you to take the plunge in decision making but check the different legislations thoroughly and explain options that you can take to achieve your goals no matter what visa type you intend to apply. I recommend PACE Migration – Syed & Anna! and will continue to be my go-to until I achieve my PR.

A special thanks to Syed for his prompt communication and attention to detail. I truly appreciated how time management and quality were prioritised at every stage. Highly recommend their services.
