We also specialise in less common visa types such as Travel Visas (SC 600, 601 and 650), Protection Visa, Partner Visas, Protection Visas and Global Talent Visas. Other migration services are also included such as applications for permanent residency and Australian citizenship.
An expression of interest is a submission to the Department of Home Affair, to be taken into consideration for the possibility of a skilled visa which includes subclasses (189,190, 491 and 188). An EOI is separate to a visa application and always required before being invited for any General Skilled Migration Subclass.
As subclass 189,190 and 491 are points- based it means that you will need to exceed the points threshold of 65 on your EOI to be eligible for these visa types. Furthermore, depending on your subclass, your occupation will need to be listed in a specific category of the ANZCO Skilled Occupation List.
Every visa application process is different and largely depends on the type of visa you are applying. Generally, the processing time to get a permanent visa is around 12 months. Some of the factors that affect the processing time of your visa are,
– The complexity of the visa application and the subclass applied for
– Availability of supporting documentation
– The workload of the department
To fasten the visa processing, it’s crucial that applicants must adhere to the Australian standards, including providing accurate details in the application, meeting health and character requirements, and fulfilling any additional criteria outlined for the specific visa subclass. Get help from our immigration consultants in Sydney to accurately fill out your application and speed up your visa process.
Recognised as the best immigration agents in Sydney, we assist you with all visa types, including,
– General Skilled Migration (SC 189, 190, 491 and 191)
– Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) SC186 TRT and DES)
– Temporary Skilled Shortage (TSS) SC482
– Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (SESR) SC494
– Partner visa SC820/801 and Sc309 and 300
– Student Visas SC500
The skilled migration visa allows you to move to Australia as a permanent resident and is available for points-tested skilled workers.
– The applicant must choose an occupation from the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) or Medium-Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) that matches their skills, qualifications, and work experience.
– You should have a positive skills assessment verify that your qualifications and work experience meet the Australian standards for the nominated occupation.
– Age must be under 45; exemption under certain circumstances.
– English language proficiency should be greater than 6 in each band in the IELTS exam (or equivalent)
– You must have a minimum of 65 points on the Points test
– You must apply for an EOI (Expression Of Interest) and once you are invited you can then apply for the visa whether it is PR SC189 or SC190 or its is Regional State nominated TR SC491.
The difference between subclass 189 and 190 is that the latter is a ‘state-nominated’ subclass which requires you to complete an additional application, but you may be eligible for more points. This means that you will be required to work and live in a particular state or territory, but it has the advantage that your nominated occupation can be listed on either the Short-Term Skilled Occupation list (STSOL) or Medium-Long Term Strategic Skills list (MLTSLL)
However, the 189 Subclass is an ‘Independent’ Visa which means you are free to work and live anywhere in Australia provided that your occupation is on the Medium-Long Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
The subclass 491 Visa is the most different in the sense that it is State/Territory sponsored for you to be designated in a regional area of Australia. The main advantage of this Visa is your occupation can either be listed on the MLTSSL, STSOL or the Regional Occupation List (ROL).
Subclasses 189 and 190 allow you to live, work and study in Australia indefinitely as permanent residents. In fact, after 4 years of living in Australia it would mean you would become eligible for citizenship.
However, subclass 491 only allows you to live in Australia as a temporary resident as in valid for only 5 years duration. This means to acquire permanent residency you will need to apply for a subclass 191 visa after being on the subclass 491 for a minimum of 3 years.
Our Australian migration agents in Sydney can advise you on obtaining enough points on the points test to increase your chances of getting a General Skilled Migration Visa (Subclass 189, 190 or 491).
