Step by step: how to achieve PR with trade professions

If you are interested in studying trades, we’ll go through the steps you need to follow to become a Permanent Resident in Australia after completing your studies:

1. Study for 2 years

The first step is to get the right qualification. You’ll have to enrol in a college for a minimum of 2 years and study the required qualifications for your occupation.

2. Apply for a graduate visa

Only if you have studied for at least 2 years, you’ll be eligible to apply for a 2-year (should be 18 months) graduate visa. This visa will allow you to work full-time and gain enough work experience to meet the skills assessment requirements and to gain 5 points towards GSM PR.

This steps can be difficult as you may require to apply for a Provisional Skills Assessment before lodging the visa application. At Pace Migration, we can assist you with all the necessary steps required for the visa.

3. Decide if you’ll have enough points for GSM (General Skilled Migration) visa SC189, SC190, SC491

During the time you are on your 485 visa, get in touch with your immigration agent to assess if you have enough points to apply for a permanent skilled visa. If you can’t meet the requirements, you might have to find an employer to sponsor you for TSS SC482 or DAMA SC494.

It is essential to get help before starting the process! Only a registered migration agent can assess your profile and recommend the best options!
