Are there enough Chefs in Australia? The answer is “no”. The problem is that only a very low number of Chefs really know how to claim themselves as a “Chef”.
The process can be stressful and complex.
This occupation requires Skills Assessments which is sometimes the hardest part for most Chefs to do successfully. But unfortunately, without it, you are not considered a “Chef” in Australia.
Which one is the Skills Assessment authority for “Chefs”? TRA– Trade Recognition Australia.
This process requires 4 very important steps:
After you received the successful outcome from TRA, we can move on to the next step, EOI (Expression of Interest). You are required minimum of 65 points, but it is unlikely that you receive an invitation with less than 80 points. Your Migration Agent is going to make sure that everything is ready before you apply.
After applying for EOI we need to get to receive the invitation. Only if you have applied for SC 189 your next step will be the visa application. However, if you have applied for SC 190 or SC 491, before we apply for the visa, we need to apply for “State Sponsor”.
